Shabby eatery that serves cheap and tasty Indonesian fare Reviews

This little eatery is one of the only decent Indonesian restaurants in the city, and, as such, is well worth a visit if you’re in the mood for a hearty pile of nasi goreng or a fresh and nutty plateful of gado gado. The restaurant is quite sparse – think gloomy rough brick walls, hard wrought iron chairs and red tablecloths to count as decor, while the food is a little rough around the edges – the seafood mie goreng is tasty and filling, the beef rendang comprises a rich and coconut-y meal, but unfortunately the delicious sauce is spoiled by a criminally chewy piece of cow. That said, the prices are incredibly low, the food arrives fast and hot and the service is decent. A word of advice: go easy on the chilli sauce unless you want to leave with a tongue stripped of all sensation, and possibly taste buds.
