Al Qasr
A hidden, unsophisticated gem that serves up some of the best Lebanese in the capital 3 Reviews
A quiet, calm restaurant with an unsophisticated feel and attentive service, Al Qasr is a hidden gem that serves up some of the best Lebanese food in the capital. Old wooden chairs, clean and simple presentation, and serving staff who’ll remember the way you like your tabbouleh make this one of our favourite places to spend a hungry evening. The mezzes are great, the fruit juices even better, and the mixed grills on par with anything else you’ll find in the area. Service is attentive, and unobtrusive, with servers always out of sight but always a wave away, and an emphasis on making you feel welcome. The only downside is the acute lack of hot, freshly-baked bread – something that would certainly propel this eatery into stardom – but a mouthful of batata harra (spicy potatoes – the best in miles) in soft pita will clear that right up.
