Rodeo Grill
Expensive steaks in a conservative, American setting 10 Reviews

- Picture 1 of 2

If Rodeo Grill’s name conjures up images of whooping cowboys, bucking broncos and other kinds of cheap and cheerful fun, you’ll be disappointed; the decor couldn’t be more staid and conservative, with heavy leather chairs, dark wood and dim lighting. It looks a little like the kind of place Republican politicians would go to make deals and smoke cigars in the movies. The restaurant spills out into the corridor of the Beach Rotana hotel which creates an uncomfortable lack of intimacy and the atmosphere isn’t helped by the scent of rose and lavender oils wafting from nearby Zen Spa.
What’s on your plate will invariably be meat – the menu is a mouth-watering list of different cuts of wagyu and Angus beef and other grills, all of which are presented in a clean and elegant fashion. Quirks such as searing your cooking preference – ‘rare’ or ’medium’ into the accompanying fried potato slice perks up what would otherwise be a very conventional meal. Rodeo Grill could do with adding a few lighter dishes to the menu and while the steaks are certainly good, the bill is far heftier than it deserves to be.
