Rosebuds

From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010
For those fearful of heading out into unknown territory there is always the hotel buffet. They vary in theme and style, but the sentiment is always pretty much the same: a bit of something for everyone. This usually means little more than a congealed mass of stews, curries and objects less identifiable than the average snapshot of the Loch Ness Monster. All of this is usually battled for by an army of pink-faced, paunch-sporting holidaymakers all grasping at the last ladleful of gruel. Thankfully Rosebuds is a classier alternative.
The Beach Rotana tends to do food well. The dining area is vast, so it’s a bit of a walk, but at least you avoid the usual buffeting (they’re not called buffets (sic) for nothing) which comes with these things. The theme nights span the usual suspects of Brit, Asian and Mediterranean themes and the Friday brunch is a great choice. The staff are swift, but in the end you’re probably not going to come here for a special night out. The a la carte menu offers a decent choice, but this is a lobby restaurant, and although a decent one, you’re probably only coming for the brunch.
