From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010
The City Café is an inconspicuous buffet restaurant in a non-descript hotel building, notable largely for being one of the few in the city that don’t serve alcohol. There’s nothing exceptional about the décor; large picture windows look out onto the busy streets of Al Maraziyah. The service is good, but the tables are close together and it can get crowded, while the a la carte menu is easily dismissed. But come Sunday night you’ll need a reservation to get dinner there. Its seafood buffet draws in the crowds with plentiful appetisers of roll-mops, oysters and salmon beckoning before you hit the hot food stations, with likes of salmon with basil butter sauce and hammour with creamy mint sauce on offer. For seafood-lovers who can get by without a cool glass of Chablis at dinner this is a great find. It’s small wonder that City Café is popular largely with families and not just the long-term guests in the apartments.
