From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010
This restaurant would challenge for honours in the romantic dinner department if it wasn’t for the suspended road that goes right past the window, blotting out any chance of a decent view. Sat on the edge of the equally blighted beach, Il Paradiso feels a little forgotten, the interior a bit shabby, which is a shame as it serves up a perfectly decent meal. Officially a seafood outlet, the menu has plenty to please the carnivores, and even a two-dish vegetarian selection. The inspired choices can of course be found on the fish menu, where the portions are plentiful and the flavours rich and satisfying. The Chilean sea bass is the signature dish, but the tiger prawn curry is equally good, leaving a rich and spicy tang that wouldn’t be out of place in a Thai eatery. If only something could be done about the location, then a meal here might be memorable for all the right reasons.
