Tiara
Revolving restaurant over Marina Mall 38 Reviews

From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010
Standing 55 floors high, Tiara, the city’s latest revolving restaurant, rises above its mall setting in more ways than one. Your first clue as to the scale of this venture is the time it takes the lift to ascend from floor ‘G’ to ‘V’ (which presumably stands for ‘vertigo’). It is well worth the wait, though. The interior is rather like a cross between a space station and a gentlemen’s club, while a contemporary European menu willfully hurls truffles and foie gras at you in a bid to impress. It works, but only because those behind it know what they’re doing.
Dishes such as the chicken and wild mushroom risotto and pot-roasted pigeon are worth the ascent alone. The flavours are subtle and not overwhelming; this is food well prepared, well thought out and immaculately presented. Revolving is not for the faint hearted, however, and catching the constant movement out of the corner of your eye can bring on a bout of travel sickness. Tiara will have you in a spin, no matter which way you look at it, but gimmicks and setting aside, this is destined to become of the city’s culinary high spots – in every sense of the word.
