If you haven’t paid a visit to the Westin Abu Golf Resort & Spa recently then it might to be time to swing on by.

That’s because Sacci, the homely Italian trattoria inside the lavish hotel, is cooking up some fresh flavours on a brand new menu cooked up the venue’s new chef.

Globe-trotting Guiseppe Sparagna, whose culinary roots lie in Rome, is now serving up a rich taste of his homeland in the UAE’s capital.

The kitchen supremo is inviting diners to go on a culinary voyage through the food-loving nation – and we can’t wait to take our taste buds on a terrific trip around the restaurant’s new dishes.

Introduced at the beginning of February, it includes this lovely lobster linguine, smothered in a fresh cherry tomato sauce and served with roasted pistachios and crispy parsley.

It is just one example of Sparagna’s celebration of Italy’s diverse cuisine.

Other flavour-packed offerings to peruse include red gnocchi in a four-cheese sauce, a spinach and ricotta ravioli, with mixed wild mushroom and black truffle, plus delightful main course treats such as braised lamb shank with saffron and mint fregola pasta, sea bass papillote, mussels, cherry tomato, black olives and potato and, for those with a hefty appetite, a 500g grilled T-bone steak with rosemary beans, roasted potato and a truffle jus.

Diners are always in for a warm welcome at this laid-back spot so why not treat yourself to a sprinkling of Italian inspiration at Sacci soon.
