Dish of the Week: Bentley Kitchen’s Butcher’s Board

One of our favourite venues in the city has had something of a makeover. Al Maryah Island restaurant Bentley has lost the Bistro & Bar from its name and gained a Kitchen. In the process the venue has come up with a new menu, and from what we’ve seen, it looks set to be absolutely brilliant.

The new additions include small plates such as bao buns, tacos and sliders, but fear not, Bentley fans, the grilled meat options that have always been the highlight here are still present and correct, if anything they’ve been upgraded by group executive chef Praba Manickam.

It didn’t take long for our eyes to be drawn to the Butcher’s Board, a mixed grill of immense choice. Enough for two, it includes slow-braised beef ribs, a grass-fed fillet, jerk chicken, beef chorizo, wagyu beef cheek and giant prawns, along with vegetables, bread and sauces. We reckon it’ll take two very hungry people to be able to polish all that off.

There has also been a revamp of the bar menu, with new mixed drinks available and two new happy hours. Drinks start at Dhs20 from 4.30pm to 7pm and from 11pm to 1am every day. There’s also the promise of live music and DJs in the coming months.

Bentley has always been one of the coolest places to hang out in the city, and with its new look, menu and drinks it sounds like its bosses really plan to take the game to the sterling competition elsewhere in The Galleria. There’s certainly nothing like this avalable anywhere else.
