Food intolerances, allergies, and restrictive dieting preferences are on the rise. Not just among adults, but with kids, too. So, the options when eating out may not always be abundant, and, when they are, the choices can be unimaginative. But gourmet deli and café jones the grocer says they have the answer to your dining woes.

This Australian import already has a solid reputation for delivering delicious, healthy meals made from natural and organic ingredients. And, this month, it plans to take its attempts one step further with the new Eat Well menu, which features paleo-friendly dishes, with some having the added bonus of being vegetarian and vegan-compliant.

For the unfamiliar, the paleo diet is a dietery preference, with followers of the regime only eating what the Paleolithic people would eat during the hunter-gatherer era – well, a modernised version of that diet, anyway. This means only fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood and nuts are allowed. Any processed foods, dairy, grains or legumes are a strict no-no.

With this menu, the team hopes to cater to a broader segment of customers of all ages, by meeting their specific dietary requirements while, of course, serving delicious, innovative dishes. The creative line-up includes a chicken fajita with portobello mushrooms wrapped in lettuce, blueberry mousse cake, and this wagyu burger, with roasted sweet potato fries.

The inspired dish calls for baby gem lettuce, which acts as the base. A few slices of roma tomato are added before a dollop of avocado and banana purée (delicious). Then comes a juicy, premium-quality wagyu patty with a final flourish of fried onion. Healthy eating has never tasted so comforting.
