Shake Away
USP: Bespoke shakes and suspiciously jolly serving staff.

Primary ingredients: Ice cream and milk (they even have soya versions of both, if you prefer) come as standard, but from there on in, it’s entirely up to you. There are 14 house blends to choose from, but if these don’t float your boat peruse the list of more than 150 blendable ingredients and devise your own heinously calorific combination. The possibilities are more or less endless, with everything from jam doughnuts and breakfast cereals to Skittles, Tic Tacs and popping candy in the offing. Just remember not to dawdle while making your decision – other people need serving too.

Presentation: Each shake comes served up in a small or large stripey cup, rather than the traditional see-through number. Ideal, really, since it means you can’t be judged by passers-by on the basis of your monstrous, multi-coloured concoction.

Taste: Stick to chocolaty, biscuity blends and you’ll end up with a deliciously smooth and sinful treat. Be warned, though – anything oaty will turn your shake into a sort of porridge, while chewy sweets make for a weird, gacky texture. TOAD’s top tip: Oreo and peanut butter, topped with a Flake. We know: naughty.

One word summary: CREATIVE!
Regular Dhs18, Dhs2 for each extra topping. ShakeAway, Al Wahda Mall (02 441 2413).

Great. It is just like the ones back in England. Same great flavours and the fun. Can't believe how lucky we are to get one in Abu Dhabi
