One of the city’s most romantic spots to eat, Talay does a superb line in fresh seafood as well as delicately spiced Thai curries and soups. Great views and even better food.

Unless you have nothing to say to your companions I would not recommend Talay. I've booked a table one day before, on the terrace, as it was supposed to be nice. However, I wasn't informed that on the adjacent beach would be held a beach party - with music so loud, you barely understood your own words and that as early as 7.30pm. When I complained, we could move inside (there, just the windows rattled with the base). Service was slow, only kind of friendly, food not bad, yet nothing special. I would've expected something extra, to make up for the blunder!

It was perfect timing I suppose. Buffet is amazingly delicious! The musicians are good. 50% off the bill for couples. It was great value for money and since it's buffet, no waiting. Just lovely evening.

The food was undoubtedly good and had the spice I was looking for in Thai food. The table and cutlery looked clean and the toilet had a nice scented liquid soap.
One of the staff members said we open only after 7pm during Ramadan but upon asking someone else we found we could sit inside the restaurant and order food and wait for iftar. The other staff member was too incompetent to know this.
NO TAKE AWAY. Big surprise. All other restaurants in Abu Dhabi, even Pizza Hut or KFC dont have a problem with TAKE AWAY. I was shocked to know I had to sit another hour to finish my food. Very unfortunate.
Food was good but I like to bring home left overs.
