It may seem a long way to trudge for a bit of kushiyaki, but the chef at Kazu earned his stripes under the legendary Nobu, and it shows. Arguably the best unagi we’ve ever tasted. But is his sushi up to scratch?
The food was below average. I've had better sashimi from a supermarket. The maki's were eye sores as they were a rolled mess. A restaurant that's trying to be gourmet, but the only thing 'gourmand' was their portions.

The bad experience for my dinner with my family..the server took the wrong order..and the drink came so slow. I would not recommend this restaurant to any other friends of mine.
Overpriced! Good sushi but not much better than others in town. Plastic outdoor tables and no umbrellas dont match the pricetag. The indoor decor is ok. Waiters are sparse and so service is slow/lacking. I suggested "business lunch" as may be ok if you're company is footing the bill...otherwise, try Wasabi or Al Ain Palace.
if you enjoy incompetent service, deafening airplane & race car noise and spending money on a less than mediocre experience, this is it!
Went to this restaurant due to the TimeOut Award it recently received and were hugely disappointed.
- had to serve own water
- courses took forever to be cleared
- no refills were offered
- sat on terrace and were not advised of the "training" which was going on. Very romantic since you cant understand each other and need to intensely look at each other to read lips
- waiter didn't understand order
- food was only good average
- setup for a banquet for going on and about 10 bare plastic tables next to us didn't add to our "Restaurant of the Year" experience
Overall hugely disappointed. Seriously considered sending the check to TimeOut to see if I would be reimbursed!? Maybe not a good idea to select winners based on the amount of advertising space booked...
The service was helpful and friendly. The decor is sparse but chic, I guess though beware of the 3-legged chairs - they tip easily and make a horrendous and embarrasing noise when the do. The food was very, very good - a cut above the other Japanese restaurants in town, I think though the sushi-sashimi was good, it was standard fare, nothing extraordinary. Try the oyster shooters. Heavenly. Will definitely go back.

I was very excited to try a new Japanese restaurant in town, and being at Yas Hotel, I thought I was going to be dazzled. But I was totally disappointed. The service was horrible, the food was barely average, the cocktails were diluted and, for what you actually get and enjoy, the bill is exaggerated.
Our cocktails were 15 minutes late, accompanied by our soup and wine! The server even offered to uncork the wine while serving the cocktails and soup! The food came in installments, which created much embarrassment.
What is much worse is that, when we complained about those major errors to the manager, she didn't even know why we were complaining!
I would not recommend this venue to any of my friends.
