This is every French expat’s favourite restaurant for a whole host of reasons. The hearty portions of unpretentious, rustic fare include classic Gallic favourites such as garlic snails, steak in pepper sauce, baked onion soup and raspberry crème brulee, as well as plenty of seasonal additions to the menu. The service is charming, with smiling competent staff who don’t get flustered no matter how busy it gets – and it is almost always busy. Atmosphere-wise, you couldn’t ask for a more authentic French vibe, with conversation and smoke filling the air night after night. Finally the bill is always surprisingly low at the end of your meal, despite the high quality of the food.

We went for a lunch on a Saturday on recommendations.
Strange entry...thru a empty coffee shop/cafe...not a impressive start.
menu is simple but promising...ordered.
I asked about the fish and the duck and settled on the duck .
Soup was great
partners tuna salad had TINNED TUNA !
my chicken liver salad was ok

interestingly i got the fish! it was dry nothing earth shattering,
partner had the stuffed chicken, "not worth a mention" was the review.

All in all a pretty disappointing Saturday lunch after expecting something better. Maybe the FT chef was on his day off?

The previous reviewers obviosuly know nothing about French food otherwise their reviews would be different. This is a little piece of provincial France in the Middle East...................Simply excellent food.

I LOVE this place!! Every time I'm in Abu Dhabi I make sure to stop in for dinner.

The "lamb chunk" (aka shank) is AMAZING!

Had the Boeuf Bourguignon and was excellent. Decor needs upgrading and the restaurant is in the process of doing the same at the moment (September 2009). As a result the restaurant has temporarily moved to the 1'st floor. Service was slow at time but the quality of the food and the reasonably priced menu made up for the lack of service.

I was celebrating my birthday there with my hubby, we ordered Beef Fondue, it was excellent, the quality of the beef is so good, and it's not too oily, the salad can be refilled, the price is reasonable.

There's a little stage for the live band singing french song, the ambience is so good, so romantic, all staff are very friendly. it's overall very good.

Service is a bit weak but the food is tasty and reasonably authentic, served quick and hot.

Its worth a visit and the price guide is not as high as suggested here.
