Shakespeare and Co has an extremely loyal following, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a frilly, lacey, pastel-hued affair that looks a little like your granny’s living room – but in the best possible way. The convival vibe, icy mocktails, delicious creamy coffees and all manner of treats served from the in-store patisserie make this the best cafe in Abu Dhabi.

Shakespeare & Co. is terrific - we've never had a dish that disappointed, from the green curry humoor in light, flaky puff pastry to the delicious prawn-avocado sandwish to the great breakfast choices. The juices are good and generously sized, and the desserts are some of the best in town. Even the service is surprisingly friendly and efficient (especially by Abu Dhabi standards).

The problem: others have mentioned it, but it's becoming worse and worse - it's the flies. They're everywhere, they're aggressive, and they're kind of disgusting. Unless the management does something about this annoyance and potential health risk, Shakespeare's going to fall significantly lower in our thinking and going-out planning...

Review on Shakespeare and Co.
So they have opened a new Souk and I had the pleasure to dine at the restaurant Shakespeare and Co . Here is what I think of it. The Service is excellent the ambiance is classic. Their deco is laced with slight hint of the Victorian era. Their lighting is soft and the seating is comfortable. The Menu is an enriched choice of English, American, Healthy, Lebanese Italian complementary mix of cultures normally seen in UAE. The price was moderate, the music: contemporary.
They say fine restaurant is enjoyed with a fine companionship and I really had a good time with Miguel De Nicola.

The first time I have been to Central Market, I had just passed by this cafe and was attracted by the shabby chic decor and intigued by the smells that wafted to my nostrils as I passed by and vowed to try it the next time.

So when my friends called for some catching up, I ,without hesitation suggested the place. We all loved the old world 'victorian' decor. I particularly loved the distressed tables and mismatched chairs and sofa. The place was very cozy and inviting and I hope the food would be as good... and It was!

The complimentary bread and garlic herbed butter was so good, I would have gladly paid for it.The bread which smelled so good and that butter with just the right amount of garlicky goodness.

My friends had the 3 different kinds of pasta. The spaghetti Bolognese, Lazagna and Fetuccine. All had just the right amount of tomato tanginess and alfredo sauce creaminess. It wasn't heavily seasoned to the point that you loose your appetite or interest after a few bites. I had the Chicken and tiger prawn which I finished all by myself while my friends shared their pasta with their better halves. The servings are generous enough for two if you aren't that heavy an eater.

For dessert we had the chocolate and vanilla ice cream and the starwberry and vanilla variation. Being a chocolate girl I devoured the chocolate ice cream with had that bitter sweet chocolatey taste I love.

The bill came to a total of AED 360 for 6 persons which I think is a good enough deal. And Oh, the staff were accomodating enough to let us ran around taking a lot of pictures!

I would definetely come back again.

pastas and salads range from AE 40-60
main courses from AED 50-100
mini cakes and ice creams not more than AED 25
