How many other Indian restaurants are sat next to a Formula 1 track? But there’s more than that on offer at Angar and, after a maturation period, the food now impresses greatly in its own right. The street food-inspired flairs on the menu are original, and the staff amicable, confident and knowledgeable.

I dined at Angar Star of India promotion night where you dine from a set menu.
a mixed platter of india starters are brought to the table which were delicious followed by platters of mixed meats and shrimps which are simply irresistable and these are unlimited - its like they have been on kebabs and then displayed beautifully on a mixed platter. you then have a choice of dishes to select from and i selected the butter chicken( i chose this as from all the reviews i have read this dish comes highly recommended) it was lovely and i would definitely have it again, this dish was small but ample as you have just had unlimited selction of the kebab platter and is a nice touch to allow you to taste a dish from the main a la carte menu. to finish off our dinner a trio of indian deserts was brought to the table which was a lovely end to the dinenr. we could select a alcoholic or non alcoholic package which i would say was well worth the money. the service was great and could not be faulted the staff were very attentive. we dined as an adult family of 4 but this seemed very popular and there were around 3 or 4 indian families also dining - this must be a good sign

I read very good reviews about the restaurant several times in reviews/ads but was dissapointed when we went there for New year Eve . . . Very slow service. . . Almost 2hrs 15 min to finish our dinner and we had to wait 20 min just for our deserts. . .

We were staying at the Yas Hotel for New Year's and decided to check this restaurant out on one of the evenings. It turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. The restaurant inside was very cramped and crowded. When we asked for a table outside, we were told it is fully reserved, but the tables outside remained unoccupied throughout. We were served a five course meal, but there was a huge delay in between serving of different courses (as much as 25-30 mins between us finishing our course and the next course being served). In addition our waiter was quite rude when we asked him about this. The last few courses were also cold by the time they were served. Food quality was strictly ok. Not sure if this was just a busy night, but would not go back there again. It spoilt our Yas Hotel experience.

i had read v good reviews about the restaurant several times in reviews/ads but was dissapointed that the everytime i called the restaurant it was always closed. i guess it was closed for about 4-5 months.. its surprising that it still managed to appear in ur top 10 restaurants of the year.. a bit of a dissapointment for me as the lamb chops lacked the basic salt.. twice i got drinks on my table which i had never ordered. but the masala cheese naan was v good. maybe it;ll take this restaurant a while to match up with the beautiful location.

Angar has one of the most honest Indian food in Abu Dhabi, pure value for money, live cooking, made after you order, worth the long drive to watch the magnificent architecture of the decade. Yes, the service is bit too attentive but better than no service. Suprisingly, the Chef is a renowned one who has opened and acclaimed awards for the famous Indego in Dubai. Wish them all the best for the future and sure to be back.
