Huge beach festival returning to Abu Dhabi

It’s time to say ‘Aloha’ once again as a fantastic five-day festival heads back to the golden shores of Abu Dhabi.

The annual Aloha Raha Beach Festival returns to the capital for the third straight year from February 13 to 17 – and it looks set to be even bigger and better than ever.

An array of free, family-friendly activities are lined up – including watersports, live music, food stands and spectacular light shows. It all takes place at Al Muneera Beach Plaza, Al Raha Beach.

Taking its name from the Hawaiian greeting, the festival is sure to offer a warm welcome.

Event organisers Aldar Properties PJSC have joined forces with luxury water transport firm Jalboot to lay on a wide variety of w activities, including kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and paddle boating, plus tranquil waterway transportation from Abu Dhabi Mall to the festival, for Dhs50 per person.

Back on dry land, visitors will be wowed by a dazzling daily light, sound and fire show as well as performances from home-grown talent such as the band Vandalye, singer-songwriter Leone Murphy and DJ sets.

Aloha Abu Dhabi will also play host to volleyball competitions and yoga alongside a kids’ activities, including a bouncy castle and a dedicated edutainment corner.

For when you need that vital refuel, there will be a multitude of food stands, such as favourites like Taqado Mexican Kitchen, Candylicious and Yamasaki Sushi Bar.

A pop-up bazaar will also be selling a wide variety of gifts, from beauty products to clothing.

“In 2017 Aloha Abu Dhabi attracted more than 20,000 visitors. Each year we evolve the event based on visitor feedback to deliver more of the activities, food and retail that people want, and this year is no exception, and promises to be the best Aloha festival yet.”
