Where has the winter gone? It feels like just yesterday we were reminiscing about al fresco evenings, when all of a sudden we find ourselves frantically trying to squeeze in as much outdoor time as possible. So, we suggest you make the most of what’s left of the season at these five awesome open-air bars.

The Captain’s Arms

The garden at this casual pub is one of the most pleasant in the city, so take advantage before the height of summer hits.
Open Sat-Wed noon-1am, Thu-Fri noon-3am. Le Méridien Abu Dhabi, Tourist Club Area (02 644 6666).

Asia de Cuba

There are few such stunning places to soak up the last few bearable rays than here. Its lovely terrace stretches down to the beach and it has an island bar, Latin music and party vibes.
Open daily noon-2am. Nation Riviera Beach Club, Corniche (02 699 3333).

Turquoiz

Sit back with your toes in the sand, the orange glow of sunset and stunning sea views. One of the most special spots in the city.
Open daily noon-4pm, 6.30pm-11pm. The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island (02 498 8888).

Skylite

Sit beneath a glowing, neon caged ceiling at this iconic (and undeniably cool) bar. There’s a great menu of juniper-based beverages, with different varieties of tonics, too.
Open daily 6pm-1am. Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, Yas Island (02 656 0600).

Tamba

You won’t find coastal views here, but the surrounding city is equally atmospheric and the outdoor terrace is softly lit with candles.
Open Sat-Wed noon-1am, Thu-Fri noon-2am. The Hub at The Mall, World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi (02 672 8888).
