A landmark retail destination is set to swing open its doors in Al Maryah Island next year.

Dubbed Abu Dhabi’s next generation mall, the massive 2.8 million sq ft Al Maryah Central has already attracted the first Macy’s outside of America and will be home to the very first Bloomingdale’s in the capital.

A superb array of other stores have also signed leasing agreements to be a key part of the mall.

The eagerly-anticipated hub will include a 35,000 sq ft flagship Zara, trendy fashion store All Saints, a Waitrose and a LEGO store.

Film fans will also be in for a treat as the mall wil boast a 21-screen VOX cinema with IMAX, featuring ThEATre by Rhodes, the restaurant helmed by Michelin-starred chef Gary Rhodes.

Kevin Ryan, chief operating officer and managing director of Gulf Related, the developers behind the scheme, says: “Al Maryah Central, together with The Galleria, will deliver a new kind of retail experience in Abu Dhabi, offering a cosmopolitan mix of shopping, dining and entertainment on par with the world’s greatest cities.

“Al Maryah Central is the anchor destination on what will be a world-class business, entertainment and residential community. It will be a truly unique offering in Abu Dhabi, complementing the continuing success of The Galleria.”
