Culturally Jordan has tons going for it, with the likes of the Darat al Funun arguably the jewel in Amman’s art scene as well as the Roman Theatre, which is the centre piece of Amman’s most famous and impressive landmark which was constructed during the reign of Antonius Pius (138-161AD) and cut into the side of a hill. If it’s adventure you’re after, visit the city of Petra. Thought to date all the way back to 300BC, it's the location for a number of iconic films such as Indian Jones and The Last Crusade. There are loads of hotels including the Kempinski Hotel Amman (+962 6 520 0200).
