Instagram Abu Dhabi
Be the first to comment 22 January 2013Photo-sharing app Instagram has taken the smartphone world by storm. From avid travellers to the mega-rich (try Googling ‘Rich Kids of Instagram’), phone addicts use the handy little app to boost the appearance of their mobile shots using built-in filters, before sharing them with the world.
Following on from the huge success and rapidly growing appeal of Instagram all over the world (including a competition by Emirates NBD which in turn lead to a recent recent exhibition in the UAE) eclectic boutique S*uce, recently launched an Instagram campaign for National Day. Using the hashtag #webuiltthiscity, it invited Abu Dhabians to submit snaps from around the city. It has become an ongoing project, with plans to publish a book of the best photos in time for National Day this year.
Instagram hit the headlines recently following changes to its user privacy policy, which stated that the company is allowed to use images in ad campaigns. In protest at this policy change many users chose to delete their accounts as a result. Following the uproar, Instagram reverted to its initial terms from 2010. Whether you’re signed up or not, here are shots to inspire you to capture our majestic, wonderful and increasingly beautiful city – with a chance to get your snaps published.
