Splash watersports festival in Abu Dhabi
The family-friendly watersports festival returns to Yas Marina Discuss this article
Yas Marina’s annual watersports festival, Splash, is back, and its timing could not be better.
As winter winds down, and the weather warms up, Splash offers two days of cool water-based activities at the marina. Yes, the organisers have extended the previously single-day event, promising twice the fun.
With multiple stations set up across the shoreline, the event will offer guests a range of activities to suit every age and adrenaline level. This year’s line-up includes wake-surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, wake-boarding and slack-lining above the water. The festival does not require pre-registration, with attendees able to sign-up for their choice of activities on-site.
Watersports specialist, Eyowa, has a thrilling agenda planned for adventurous types. At the Extreme Zone, participants will be able to put their balance to the test on the over-water tight-rope, or try wake-boarding, wake-surfing and kite-surfing.
If action doesn’t float your boat (sorry), then opt for a relaxing cruise. Captain Tony’s Cruises will be on deck, offering patrons a relaxing 45-minute tour of the protected mangroves that surround Yas Island.
Kids can splash about in the Wet ‘n’ Wild Zone, which includes a floating obstacle course and inflatable water-slides. Children under 12 years old and accompanied by a guardian can also try kayaking and sailing.
To refuel, visitors can check out one of the seven licensed restaurants around the marina. It’ll certainly be a fun-filled weekend for all.
