A right royal feast
Culinary explorers can make a date at Emirates Palace for a palate-pleasing evening of global cuisine during its Flavours of the Palace event. Go on a food trail lined with pop-up restaurants, such as Hakkasan, Mawal, Mezzaluna and BBQ Al Qasr, and snack on gourmet nibbles from Amstur Caviar and The Oyster Elite Company at the luxury hotel’s West Wing Gazebo. Live music and a DJ will complete the memorable menu.

An Illiad

Mum’s the word

Mother’s Day comes only once a year — but you can extend the celebrations at Bawabat Al Sharq Mall. Roll back the years with a fortnight of nostalgia-packed activities that show however old you get, you will always be your mother’s child. As well as a seesaw, hopscotch and a mocked-up graduation day, shoppers can enter a raffle draw to win a Nissan car.

Weigh to go!

Burger lovers will be eager to try this challenge on for size. NRG Sports Café will provide a free round of drinks for any foodie who can devour their mighty 1kg burger and fries within 25 minutes. It’s a fantastic fast food feat, as long as you don’t bite off more than you can chew.

The ultimate fitness challenge sees hardy competitors running through the desert, and swimming through lakes and pools in pursuit of glory.
